Beware: 'Time Bandits' can add to the stress

In a recent survey APA found that over 50% of respondents thought that 'the volume of physical interruptions' they experienced was the single largest challenge to their daily effectiveness.

Tell us what you think; do you agree or is it something else?

We would especially like to hear from PAs who have a tried and tested method for keeping 'Time Bandits' at bay.

I only accept internal diary time allocation requests between 4-5pm daily by phone.

It works for me - increasingly people bemd and accommodate it.

Thanks Janey, I like that solution. It's definitely worth other people trying as a way to reduce time pressures.

Another old favourite that has worked for me, is NO internal emails on Friday - you instruct people to call you or drop in. As it's Friday they almost invariably don't!

I still think emails are the biggest interuption to your working life. I had one yesterday (marked impotant) from someone in the next office, who I can see her through my glass partition, which started "See you are busy ..." Trivia Rules KO!

It was my fault for looking at it but what do you so?
